At Crystal Mountain Resort, Thompsonville:
10:00 to 12:30PM – Breakfast/Brunch, and learn about Crystal Mountain’s many Sustainability Projects.
12:30 to 1:30PM – Crystal Mountain Facilities Tour
Jim MacInnes, a professional engineer and the resort's chairman will give a presentation on ways to transition to a clean energy future through electrification. “The potential to deploy clean energy solutions is enormous,” he says. There will be a tour of some of the resort’s sustainability initiatives including: a closed loop building geothermal heat pump system, capturing and reusing waste heat in the resort’s LEED certified spa, and their EV charging systems.
Visitors are also invited to visit the Michigan Legacy Art Park after the tour. https://michlegacyartpark.org/ . The 31 acre art park invites hikers to see over 50 sculptures in the permanent collection, as well as rotating exhibits and poetry stones, connecting visitors to Michigan's shared cultural and natural history.
In Grand Rapids:
3:30 to 4:30PM – Visit new Tiny Home Neighborhood, working to relieve and reverse homelessness.
5:00 to 7:00PM – Dinner and Discussion. Sustainable microbreweries discussion.
